Those looking for a great mix of arts and antiques will find it at Artists on the Sound, a new addition to Farmer's Daughter. Artists on the Sound offers a variety of interesting works of art and consignments from Connecticut artists. It is not a gallery, but rather an expansion of Farmer's Daughter, providing a larger venue in which artists can sell and consign their works and rent out retail space (artists and craftsmen may apply for space). In addition to artisans' works, Artists on the Sound features antiques, collectibles, jewelry, pottery, hand-carved wood decoys, stained glass, soaps, folk art, watercolors, wine bottle lights, candles, pillows, furniture, and more. Owner Gay Petruzzi has been in business for 17 years and Farmer's Daughter has been in operation for the last seven. She uses the space to hand-paint and re-purpose vintage items. Visitors can expect a warm greeting from the shop's mascot, Mollie, a soft-coated Wheaten terrier.
